Habitat and behaviour:
Bolivian endemic. Uncommon to abundant in dry forest, scrub, and cultivated areas in inter-Andean vallleys of Central Bolivia. Its range coincides with that of the Red-fronted Macaw. Conspicous and noisy ofthen in rather large flocks. Breeds in bulky, enclosed stick nests anchored to vertical cliffs. It can be observed in great numbers at the Red-fronted Macaw Community Nature Reserve.
