Bolivia is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world but, until recently, lacked international guides to its wildlife. This has kept the country from being a top travel destination for birders and ecotourists. It is also one of the poorest nations in South America, with few incentives for sustainable, environmentally friendly development. There have been many positive changes that helped Armonía to continue progressing towards the creation of a sustainable private nature reserve, from seeing Blue-throated Macaw chicks fledge from our nest boxes and welcoming more tourists to the reserve than ever before, to investing in a new conservation tool that is helping us tackle fires more efficiently and advancing scientific research through a range of investigations.
